The toilets
have become the ideal place to express your creativity . But if choosing the
right paint color is essential, it is also necessary to adopt the right
formulations and the appropriate finishes . Glossy, matte, acrylic or glycerol
paint?
Small passage room par excellence, often with a strong artificial
lighting without natural luminosity, the toilets require specific paintings and
finishes . Tips and tricks to choose the most suitable formulations for your
toilet, without missteps.
Toilet
paint: matte, satin or glossy finish?
For the
toilet, velvety satin paint is undoubtedly the ideal formulation. More resistant,
it also offers a powdered finish that masks the irregularities of the support.
The toilets being a small space, their walls are in fact constantly subject to
micro-shocks and other passing friction. A glossy finish would highlight the
defects of the support, especially under the artificial light of this piece.
Toilet paint: glycero or acrylic?
Glycerophthalic
paint or "glycerol" is made from oils and solvents. Long appreciated
for its resistance, it is nevertheless less and less used in the decoration. In
question: its longer drying time, its strong smell but especially its high
percentage of VOC (volatile organic component), highly polluting .
This
consideration is all the more important as toilets often consist of a cramped
room with no windows. We therefore prefer to use for toilets, an acrylic paint
formulatedwater based. Easy to apply, almost odorless, it is also leachable.
Another very significant solution: the depolluting paints. Some brands offer
new formulas that can absorb and eliminate the main pollutants in indoor air
(including formaldehyde, hexaldehyde ...) as soon as they are applied
